The Copyright Process

Step 1

Once you identify the copyright services you want, download and complete the associated PDF form for each service. The PDF forms are designed to collect the information we need to prepare your copyright application.

Step 2

Once the forms are completed, come back to the site and purchase the copyright services using our online store. Upon completing your purchase, you will receive an email confirmation with directions for uploading your forms via our secure website.

Step 3

We will review the information you provide for consistency, completeness and where necessary, ask for clarification. Then we will prepare your copyright application according to government requirements. Your completed copyright application with filing instructions will then be mailed to you.

Step 4

Following our easy to follow instructions, you will submit a copy or 2 copies of your original work with your completed application and registration fee via registered or certified mail return reciept requested to the government office.

Step 5

Your copyright registration is effective upon receipt by the government office. You will be sent signed proof of delivery as requested mail reciept, along with a cover letter as much as a couple months from the government office in charge.

Step 6

You will receive a certificate of registration from the government office directly by mail, typically within 7-10 months.
